    Aneeqa Janjua, CMHC-I

*Under Supervision with Jason Wootton, LCSW

Aneeqa is passionate about working in the mental health field and believes everyone deserves to be seen and heard. Aneeqa hopes to provide each client with the support they need throughout any life challenge or transition.

Aneeqa is currently a student at Rocky Mountain University in their Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) graduate program. She has a master’s degree in psychology from Arizona State University and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Utah Valley University. Aneeqa spent 2 years teaching psychology at Utah Valley University before deciding to go back to school to become a CMHC.

Aneeqa’s approach to counseling is more of an integrative style, a collaboration process with each client. She considers the deeper existential or “meaning-of-life” questions that often lie under the surface of the life problems we all face. She also focuses on a holistic style, considering psychological, physical, spiritual, and social aspects of wellness. Aneeqa believes every person is unique, therefore not one style fits the needs of every client. She is always open to feedback from clients, often asking “what am I doing that is working well for you?” And “what am I doing that is not helpful to you?” Aneeqa believes feedback is essential in order to provide the best therapeutic relationship with each client.

Aneeqa was born and raised in Utah. She comes from a multicultural background and enjoys learning and experiencing all cultures. Aside from traveling, Aneeqa also loves being in nature and spending time with her partner of 5 years. When she is not counseling, you can often find her bird watching. Aside from those interests, Aneeqa also loves watching movies at the cinema and reading books in bed.”
