Deborah Pryor, MAT, is a Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern currently completing her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Marriage, Couple, and Family Therapy at Walden University. She is completing her internship at New Beginnings Counseling Group, where she works with individuals, couples, children, and families to foster healing, connection, and personal growth.

Prior to pursuing a career in counseling, Deborah earned a Master of Arts in Teaching and spent more than eight years as an elementary educator. Her experience in education cultivated a deep passion for working with children and families and inspired her transition into the mental health profession.

Deborah’s therapeutic approach is rooted in Attachment Theory, with the belief that early relationships with primary caregivers shape the patterns, beliefs, and behaviors individuals carry into adulthood. She also incorporates principles of somatic awareness and mindfulness to help clients better understand the impact of trauma, regulate emotions, and strengthen resilience. In addition, Deborah has a special interest in men’s mental health and is passionate about supporting the unique emotional and relational challenges men face throughout life.

She strives to create a warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental therapeutic environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to develop healthier relationships and meaningful life skills.

Outside of the therapy office, Deborah enjoys hiking, paddleboarding, river rafting, reading, cooking, baking, and attending ballet and dance performances. She is also an enthusiastic sports fan, with a particular love for baseball.

Deborah is currently accepting new clients and looks forward to partnering with individuals, couples, and families on their journey toward healing and lasting change.
