    Miranda completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology at Brigham Young University, and a Master of Social Work degree at the University of Utah. Miranda has been trained in several clinical modalities including Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Trauma-informed interventions (TF-CBT) . 


    She has worked with  adolescents, and adults experiencing, anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, trauma, generational trauma, faith transitions, and  self harm and suicide ideation. Prior to joining New Beginnings Counseling Group, Miranda worked at general private practice, substance use inpatient programs, at-risk-youth inpatient programs, and outpatient agencies catering to Spanish-speaking immigrants and refugees.    

    Miranda is passionate about social justice and breaking the mental health stigma. She chose to become a therapist because of the benefit and change that can come into someone’s life through therapy. Miranda values her clients experiences, and desires to walk along the therapeutic journey with her clients, to build emotional and mental independence and freedom. She believes that everyone deserves to be heard, accepted, and validated.

    Miranda is happily married to her husband, Tomas, and they have two rambunctiously sweet boys. In her spare time she enjoys baking, dancing, enjoying nature, being creative though DIYs and decor, and connecting with her loved ones.
