Mabel is one of our student interns from Utah Valley University. She is passionate about working in the mental health field and helping her clients find the support they need at some of the most challenging crossroads of their lives.
Mabel has earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work and is now studying as a second-year intern at Utah Valley University to obtain her Master’s degree in Social Work. She has gained years of experience working in a therapeutic setting, primarily with high-risk teens and a diverse population of young adults. Her experience includes supporting individuals in therapy groups in different areas including depression, anxiety, trauma, abuse, low self-esteem, and suicidal ideation.
Mabel truly believes in the resilience of the human spirit and sees adversity as an opportunity for personal growth and transformation. Her primary goal is to help her clients connect with their true selves, harness adverse experiences for personal growth, and establish an empowering belief system that aligns with their highest potential.
Mabel’s approach to counseling is holistic, considering psychological, physical, and spiritual aspects of wellness. She utilizes many therapeutic modalities including CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and Client-Centered Therapy with a Strengths-Based approach. She believes in the significant benefits of mindfulness and integrates existential and humanistic principles into her practice as well.
Mabel was born and raised in the beautiful state of Maine. She is a professional singer and avid music lover who has a passion for creating art, writing music, cooking, and spending time near the ocean whenever possible. Mabel is happily married and enjoys adventuring with her husband and their two adorable miniature Dachshunds.
